So close but still so far…

The show called “Restrictions during the pandemic” continues. The daily increase is still not letting go, the infection map is filled with red points and along with this information, more prohibitions are flowing to us from government deliberations. I do not hide that I do not have the knowledge and experience to be able to comment on the effectiveness of the imposed restrictions, but from a logical point of view, the currently introduced rules sound a bit absurd. Not wanting to be groundless, firstly, I will present you these changes in several key aspects of everyday life, and secondly, I will try to illustrate for you what it would be like to implement these regulations in the everyday life of production companies.

What limitations are we talking about here? If we tried, we could undermine the logic of virtually all applicable restrictions, but without exaggeration, let’s focus on the most important… 😊

Regionalization – i.e. additional restrictions in townships with the highest increase in infections. It is not surprising that in this way the map of the country has been divided into three colors – red, yellow and green. What does it mean for us as POL-EKO? Well, quite a lot, mainly because the company’s employees commute to work from all three zones, which, to put it mildly, causes a bizarre situation. To the point…

Covering the mouth and nose, current duties:

1) in public transport;

2) in generally accessible places – unless the distance of 1.5 m is kept;

3) in workplaces and public utility buildings;

 

4) in commercial or service facilities;

5) during religious worship, including religious activities or rituals, in a public building intended for the purposes of religious worship and at a cemetery.

The green and yellow zones remain unchanged, the red zone is additionally required to wear a mask in public spaces.

Gastronomy.

Currently, in the restaurant and in the garden, customers must cover mouth and nose until they are in a place where they will eat or drink. The staff covers the mouth and nose.

Red zone – 1 person for 4 sqm.

Yellow zone – 1 person for 4 sqm.

 

Public transport.

Currently, the vehicle can transport as many people as:

 

a) 100% of the number of seats,

b) 50% of the number of all seats and standing positions specified in the technical documentation or operation and maintenance documentation for a given type of means of transport or vehicle, while leaving at least 50% of the seats in the means of transport or vehicle unoccupied.

 

Additionally, in the red zone – 50% of the number of seats or 30% of the number of all seats and standing places specified in the technical documentation or operation and maintenance documentation for a given type of means of transport or vehicle, leaving at least 50% of the seats unoccupied in the means of transport or vehicle. – local transport within the red area.

 

The assumption is that in order for the division into zones to have a real impact on the effectiveness of combating the pandemic, people from each specific zone should comply with the restrictions, regardless of the zone in which they are, otherwise how?

A person living in the red zone should comply with the restrictions in the red zone, even if he or she works in the green zone, in any other case regionalization loses its sense…

 

Let us imagine a few hypothetical situations.

There are three employees in the parking lot, two from the green zone and one from the red zone. Smiling employees from the green zone walk 1.5 meters from each other and discuss loudly on their way to work. Right behind them, at the same distance, a masked employee of the red zone is walking and he does not manage to make contact with his colleagues. Maybe they can’t hear him through the mask? Or maybe green zone workers don’t want to talk to the “dangerous type”?

Can employees from different zones eat breakfast in the same room?

What about commuting? An employee gets on a bus that is 100% full in the green zone, the bus goes to the red zone. In this case, is 50% of the course participants forced to leave the bus and wait for the next one, in which the number of seats will be in accordance with the conditions of the red zone? Or maybe the residents of the red zone should storm the door without embarrassment? After all, the bus moved to the green zone, it should be safe.

Maybe apply regionalization in production halls? Should we divide the work according to the place of residence of the employees? Three production halls would be perfect. Green zone employees would be delegated to produce CHL laboratory refrigerators, yellow zone employees to work on SRW dryers and Compact Lab laboratory furniture, red zone employees would take care of thermostatic devices such as KK climatic chambers and ILW incubators.

Probably we will not know the answers to these questions…

It’s hard not to find irony, it’s hard to find logic, but let’s not forget that we will all be punished for not complying with the restrictions…
